What's the difference between a "listing" and "lucky find?"
A deal listing describes your business and offers an exclusive Event Finds price on un-booked date specials or promotions you have. This deal will stay on our site for 2 months, or longer if desired. A lucky find is a timed voucher deal that runs for 1 week. Our members can purchase the deal through our site and redeem the voucher with you thereafter.
Why do I have to fill out a vendor application?
We want to ensure that our members book reputable vendors. Unlike most media, our vendors must meet our quality standards and only approved vendors are listed on Event Finds. Our application process helps us get an idea of who you are and helps us determine which one of our services best fits your business. It also allows you to become a member of our site and browse as a user.
What are your fees?
There is only one up front fee for a deal listing, which is determined by what category your business falls under and the length of the listing. Once the listing fee is paid there are no additional fees or commissions. For our lucky finds there is a service charge of the total sales.
Do I have to list specific dates?
No, our website gives you the flexibility to highlight up to 6 un-booked dates or list a specific promotion over a period of time. For example, the specific dates option is best if you have dates that you are selling at "40% off normal rates." If you have a seasonal promotion of "20% off all services booked in the month of May," then you're able to enter those details in the availability section. It is not our intention to lock your business into giving discounts over long periods of time, but rather give you control so you don't lose money on busy dates.
How do I start a listing?
Once approved, we'll e-mail a step-by-step vendor guide that will take you through the process using our vendor portal. There, you will enter your business information, deal description, photos, availability details and then you submit the deal electronically. Once you submit your deal listing we'll get in touch with you and send you an invoice if required.
Do I have to offer a discount? I don't want to be considered a cheap vendor or lose my reputation.
Our site was specifically created to list only high quality event vendors that have occasional un-booked date specials or promotions they are looking to advertise. It is common for businesses to offer discounted rates as part of their promotional marketing mix. This does not lessen the quality or reputation of a vendors services or products. We only ask that the discount is at least 20% off retail rates. It's a win-win solution, you stay busy and our members won't want to pass up your irresistible offer. What if I want to add/change a picture or update the listing?
You're able to update any details in your listing by signing into the vendor portal at any time before or after the listing is live. You can make any changes to the listing including new photos, new dates and changes to the availability.
What do I do when I book a listed date?
You must log into your vendor portal, click on the deal listing, then remove the booked date or update with a new date.
How will members contact me?
Members are able to contact you by phone, email or directly through our contact form in your deal listing. If they call, they must mention they found you on "Event Finds" to get the deal price. From there, you will work out the details and book the client directly. For Lucky Finds purchases, Event Finds will process and email you a list of the vouchers purchased. Once the client receives their voucher they will redeem it directly with you. The voucher will contain your contact information.
